Email Suite Failure to Send Emails when using Office 365 and SMTP Authorization

A recent Microsoft announcement relating to the end of support for TLS1.0 and TLS1.1 is causing some failures in the sending of earnings statements through the Email Suite feature from Integrity Data when using SMTP authorization with Office 365.  This does not currently seem to be a widespread issue but may cause more customers to fail using SMTP through Office 365 as Microsoft expands this requirement in the coming months

The lack of support for TLS 1.1 and 1.2 is due to a limitation in the GP runtime system which in turn affects our Employee Email Suite solution.  Integrity Data will be adding support for TLS 1.1 and 1.2 in a future release which is targeted for Q2 2022.

In the short term our recommended solution is as follows:

Step 1: Install a client version of Outlook on the workstation that is designated for sending the earnings statements.

Step 2: Change the Email Suite Setup to Outlook as the delivery method

  • Tools>Setup>Payroll>Email Suite Setup

Step 3: Verify if the Integrity Data Outlook Add-in is installed

  • Open Outlook
  • Click File>Options>Add-ins
