ACA Full-Time and Part-Time Classification Difference

KB13-033

If you classify an employee as full-time, you are obligated to provide them access to health care coverage after the designated Waiting Period that can be no more than 3 months after the start of the hired month. If you classify an employee as part-time, they must go through an Initial Measurement Period test.  Most choose a 12 month testing period but it can be as low as 6 months.
